Our Honeymoon

For our honeymoon, we took a three week trip that encompassed three continents.  Here is our itinerary:

Sunday, October 11th - Fly from Huntsville to Rome
Monday, October 12th - Arrive in Rome, bus tour of city, Colosseum and Trevi Fountain at night, Hotel Pisana Palace
Tuesday, October 13th - Travel by train to Civitavecchia, board Grand Princess
Wednesday, October 14th - Docked in Naples (0700-1900), tour of the Amalfi Coast (Sorrento and Positano), lunch on at La Tagliatta on the coast, tour of Pompeii
Thursday, October 15th - At Sea
Friday, October 16th - Docked in Athens (0600-1745) - self-guided tour of Acropolis/Parthenon, National Archaelogical Museum, original Olympic stadium, Forum
Saturday, October 17th - Docked in Ephesus (0700-1300) - tour of the town of Ephesus and the Terrace Houses, drive by the Temple of Artemis and the House of the Virgin Mary
Sunday, October 18th - Docked in Istanbul (0800-1800) - tour of Topkapi Palace, Hagia Sophia, Blue Mosque and Hippodrome with lunch at Turkish restaurant
Monday, October 19th - Docked in Mykonos (1200-1900) - self-guided tour of town, windmills, and beaches
Tuesday, October 20th - At Sea
Wednesday, October 21st and Thursday, October 22nd - Docked in Port Said, Egypt - overnight tour of Saqqara and Step Pyramid, Egyptian Museum with mummies room, lunch at Le Pasha on the Nile, Sound & Light Show at the Pyramids, night at the Conrad Hilton Cairo, day tour of Pyramids of Giza (including inside), the Sphinx, camel ride around the Pyramids, lunch at Caviar Restaurant, bus tour of Alexandria, meet up with ship in Alexandria
Friday, October 23rd - At Sea
Saturday, October 24th - At Sea
Sunday, October 25th - Disembark, train back to Rome, Vatican Museum/Sistine Chapel, rented car and drove through Tuscany (with stop in Perugia) to Venice, overnight in Hotel Airone on Grand Canal
Monday, October 26th - Venice - St. Mark's Square and Basilica, Campanile, Doge's Palace, shopping in Venice, Rialto Bridge, gondola ride at sunset
Tuesday, October 27th - Venice - Santa Maria Gloriosa dei Frari, Drive to Florence -Hotel Alex
Wednesday, October 28th - Tour of Florence - bus tour to Piazzale Michelangelo, Florence Cathedral/Duomo/Baptistery, Accademia Gallery with statue of David, lunch, drive around Florence, Fiesole, and Arno Valley, walking tour of Florence, Palazzo Vecchio, Loggia del Lanzi, Uffizi Gallery, Hotel Alex
Thursday, October 29th - Pisa with climb to the top of the Leaning Tower, Hotel Alex
Friday, October 30th - Drive back to Rome, Colosseum and Roman Forum/Imperial Forums, Hotel Romulus
Saturday, October 31st - Vatican City/St. Peter's Basilica, Castel Sant'Angelo, Pantheon, Piazza Navona, Hotel Romulus
Sunday, November 1st - Fly back to Huntsville
